Catch the Brit punk trio on the road supporting Alkaline Trio or at just-announced Surf City Blitz gig alongside Offspring, Rancid, and Social Distortion.
"The trio has never let its disparate backgrounds or geographical origins stand in the way of loud, loud rock 'n' roll.” -PopMatters
What’s in a name? For a band like Sharp/Shock, it means everything. At once an apt descriptor, a manifesto, and a primer for the band’s melody-meets-malice sound, Sharp/Shock delivers a dose of electrifying, melody-driven punk. Cementing their status as one of the most positively jolting bands in punk today, the trio has released a live video for their performance of “Dancing All Night.” Watch the video in full via No Echo today.
Sharp/Shock is the brainchild of Davey Warsop (Beat Union, Suedehead) and Dan Smith (The Dear & Departed; world-renowned tattoo artist). Combining their mutual love for The Jam and Descendents with a no-holds-barred approach to performance, Sharp/Shock commands any stage and studio they find themselves in.
Touring behind their stellar sophomore LP, Youth Club (Heart & Skull, 2018), Sharp/Shock is weaving throughout the West Coast alongside Alkaline Trio and together PANGEA. Their triumphant run will end with a special performance at Surf City Blitz on October 27, when they will share a stage with Offspring, Rancid, and Social Distortion.
From the deeply analytical lyrics of "I Don’t Want A Nuclear Family” that cut like a knife, to the unrepentant honesty of “Bad Lad," the tracks featured on Youth Club imbue American punk tenets with a British lilt and unapologetic nostalgia. With Warsop stepping in as producer (who has previously served behind the board for Green Day, Foo Fighters, Bad Religion, and more), Sharp/Shock’s sound is leaner ’n meaner than ever.
Youth Club is available now via Matt Skiba’s Heart & Skull Records—order a copy of your own here. Catch Sharp/Shock on the road this month (full tour itinerary below).
